Escambia Man Convicted On Child Porn Charges

April 16, 2015

A federal trial jury convicted Thomas Victor Sway, 24, of Pensacola, of receipt, attempted receipt, and possession of child pornography.

At trial, the government presented evidence that, between November 2012 and May 2013, Sway received and possessed child pornography, including videos depicting images of minors less than 12 years of age engaged in sex acts. Undercover law enforcement officers discovered and  downloaded the pornographic files from a public file sharing network that could be traced to  Sway’s computer.

After agents executed a search warrant at Sway’s residence, a forensic  analysis of his hard drive revealed at least 140 video files containing images of child  pornography. Additionally, the system file history indicated a pattern of Sway using dozens of  distinct search terms to locate child pornography on the internet.

Sway faces a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years in prison. Sentencing  has been scheduled for June 30 before Chief United States Judge Casey Rodgers in Pensacola.

United States Attorney Marsh praised the work of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Pensacola Police Department, and the other agencies that are part of the Northwest Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force,  whose joint investigation led to the charges in this case. Bratt resident, selling pot is not a life offense and no one has ever received a life sentence for only selling pot.
It amazes me how in an article revving the use of force policies in the prison system many readers applaud the action and condemn the officers and emphasize with the inmates. However in this article we want to throw the offender under the jail and let him rot. Now don’t get me wrong my personal feelings are that child molestation or child porn producers, watchers and anyone else involved should be executed. the the liberals who do not want the inmates to be abused should remember that many of the offenders that are worried about are pedophiles.

It is justice, they are doing what they can to find the people that create but they also have to stop the people who are using it for their own vices. Trust me they will find them just as they did him.

Its evident once again after reading peoples response that these types of arrest may be mis-understood . As sick as it may be (and is) for an individual to have the desire and longing to spend his time pondering the internet for such repulsive content of infantile infringement, and should be punished for his actions. It seems these childrens’ foremost Predator (the ones behind the forceful and/or coerceful production of this filth) STILL remains at large. With all the resources these joint taskforce type operations have, their main objective (if not) should be to find, charge, and prosecute the facilitators of this content. What would be the difference in joint ops, dea, fbi, local leo ect. spending all their time and resources on just finding drug users and not the manufacturing of and/or distribution of drugs.

“Sway faces a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years in prison.” Since they are the sentencing guidelines, give him the 5 year minimum for the bleeding hearts AND the 20 year maximum to satisfy others.
