Deputies Name Suspect In Century Double Shooting
March 27, 2015
Two people are recovering after being shot Thursday night in Century, and the Escambia Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in locating a suspect
Deputies are searching for 28-year old Brian Keith Sanders (pictured, but deputies said his head is now shaved). He is wanted on charges of aggravated battery, deadly missiles, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and criminal mischief. Deputies said he should be considered armed and dangerous and not approached.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Jay Hospital emergency room Thursday night alerting them that two gunshot victims had arrived in a private vehicle seeking treatment. The gunshot victims advised that they were shot on Jefferson Avenue in Century.
Both victims were shot in the shoulder or upper-arm area, and they were treated and released .
They were apparently shot while in a vehicle that was discovered on Mayes Street at Jefferson Avenue. It appeared that the driver’s window of the Chevrolet Impala had been shot out.
Anyone that knows the whereabouts of Sanders is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (850) 436-9620 or CrimeStoppers at (850) 433-STOP.
Further details were not released.

The comments on this are becoming comical…”mind yo business!” “Think positive- it’ll go away!”; and my favorite sentiment- “stop judging-U dunno the whole story!”.
This is why the rest of the world laughs at America. Wake up and smell the coffee. Your town isn’t going to change by positive thinking and faith in God. People will never “mind their own business” when bullets are involved. And judging will happen, that’s reality, get used to it.
If you want to change your city, start a factory there and bring decent jobs to your city. Invest in education that matters- like engineering and science. Stop the bullets by reporting the criminals and not by taking their side with stuff like “you just don’t understand”. Nonesense. Crime is crime. If you want respect, you have to EARN it. It won’t come any other way. My 2 cents.
1) glad the two guys were at least okay when they got to the hospital.
2) As for NB, the owner of the car, we quit caring about the car when bullets started flying and two people got hit. Call it priorities, if you will.
3) “citizen” says that it was none of our business. It became *everyone’s* business when bullets started flying. And no matter what it was about, what civilized human settles matters of any sort by gunfire? The issue went very public, so expect public input from now on. If you guys go public with your arguments, you should expect others to step in to take control when you lose it.
How about this….
Stop acting like idiots and shooting one another whatever its about.
Cause that junk makes some nervous and gives them something to talk about.
KNOW THAT!!!
I hate when people assume something but don’t really know what happened stop Judging & start praying for the family’s that are going through a lot in there life.
Help me understand. If the shooting was NOT over drugs— it’s ok to shoot two people. I guess it’s a cultural thing that I don’t understand.
I highly doubt that Century’s current economic state is due to reader’s posts on NorthEscambia.com. However, nice deflection.
Y’all are so selfish it ain’t even funny!!! Yea Okkay 1 y’all dont know if drugs where involved!! 2 I would like. To apologize to everyone who actually is goin through this for all the disrespectful people who would rather sit here and put people down!!!! 3 I. Am praying for everyone who was involved!!!!
I don’t know how I would handle it unless it happened to me, but…
If my car got shot up along with my friends or family that were inside it, I don’t think I would come on NorthEscambia.com to tell others to shut up. I think I would probably deal with whatever in my life is causing such a downward spiral.
But then, I’m just goofy that way.
Why is everyone worried about century? I’m pretty sure God has reason for everything. This is why century don’t get anything done because of what people post. For example, drugs. Just because drugs are common in Century doesn’t mean it’s everyone does it. For y’all information, I’m a high school student and I plan on making century a better place. Nobody talks about where I was raised up at. I rather be live in century rather than Pensacola. I have faith in God that Century is going to change from the “poverty city” to the city that helps other people. I feel that if you guys can’t say anything positive or uplifting about my town then please I’m asking to keep your negative comments to yourself. People are already going through enough in Century, and how is we gone get somewhere around negativity.
“It may not be about drugs, and and it may be our business, but Mrs. Sanders was busted on a bunch of drug charges just last month after a search warrant

And there’s the sound of the gavel as the jury in the Court of Public Opinion is dimissed.

@citizen and NB- Sir or madam, this story is posted on a public news site with an open forum/commentary system. Crime in Century IS our business. Not sure what you expect.
Citizen, first and most important is not if it is drug related it is the safety of the people. We can clearly see by your public statement advising the public and officers to “mind there bussiness” you dont care about the safety of YOUR loved ones but we do and we will do whatever it takes to get those who dont care about the safety of us and ours OUT OUR NEIGBORHOODS AND OFF OUR BLOCKS. So No.
As long as folks are running around in public shooting it is absolutely our business.
This is my car. And we would appreciate it dearly if you all would mind your own business. We are going through enough as it is. Thanks…
@Citizen. What was it about? I am concerned, for one I want Century to be
safe.
Whether the issue was drug related or not it wasn’t worth trying to kill someone over. People have no respect for life and decency any more.
Citizen stated:
“If yall would worry about your own business yall would be the best of people. This wasn’t drug related, it was over some other things going on. If yall can’t get on here and be concerned then yall need to mind your own buisness!!”
So other folks should just look the other way when people get shot in their cars? Because this is the wild west, right? Friend, it is our business when bullets ring out! How about we the people take back our country from thugs (and their sympathizers)?! This kind of behavior will not and should not be tolerated. Report crimes, report gangs, report, report, report!!! Silence = collusion. Just saying.
Citizen, with what is apparently your vast amount of information, be a good citizen and pass this on to the ECSO.
Most people are concerned, because of what and where events such as this happen.
A Century that Never Ends….
Every shooting is not over drugs. Everybody assumes that because of the area.
After all, what would drugs be doing in Century?
Looks like they are going to need some adult supervision at these Century Drug Deals.
If yall would worry about your own business yall would be the best of people. This wasn’t drug related, it was over some other things going on. If yall can’t get on here and be concerned then yall need to mind your own buisness!!
Hmmm…. Sounds like drugs. I can imagine the “oh no, that did not go like we planned” thoughts.
Some things never change. A few good folks have to live in that area, but for the most part not a whole lot of good stuff goin on there.
Just another day at the office for these thugs.
hmmmm it couldn’t be drug related could it? (insert sarcasm)
