Strike Out Cancer Game Raises Over $11.5K, Tate Tops WFHS; NHS Splits With Chipley
March 21, 2015
Cancer research was the real winner Friday night as the Tate Aggies hosted the West Florida Jaguars. It was the 6th annual Strike Out Cancer Charity Softball Game, with both sides wearing pink jerseys.
Together, the teams raised over $11,500 for the American Cancer Society. The Lady Jags came prepared with their own $5,000 donation that they raised, mostly on a GoFundMe website.
On the scoreboard, the Lady Aggies were the winners, 4-1 over West Florida.

Tori Perkins did a great job on the mound and Lauren Brennan at the plate accounting for all four runs. Great job seniors! Great job West Florida for raising such a huge amount of money for a great event. Always a great event.
About two weeks or so before the softball game began, these two teams became one team in the Strike Out Cancer game before the softball game was played on the field. Everyone won because they worked together to make sure they won. They did a lot of fundraising. A lot of knocking on doors asking for donations, door prizes and the Internet was use a lot also. Our community came together to support this one team. We won! We all won! American Cancer Society will receive a check for over $11,000.00 in an effort of being one team. Being a survivor or over 17 years I thank each and every member of this special team… West Florida Lady Jaguars + Tate Lady Aggies = one team to help Strike Out Cancer… Way to go ladies!!! Way to go!
