New Walmart Store Taking Applications For 95 Jobs

March 22, 2015

Looking for a job? Walmart will hire up to 95 people for their new store this morning.

The new Walmart Neighborhood Market is currently under construction at 9201 Pine Forest Road. At about 44,000 square feet, it’s much smaller than the 200,000 square feet of a Walmart Supercenter.

Walmart is accepting applications from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday-Friday at a temporary hiring center at 2115 West Nine Mile Road, Suite 12. Applications can also be submitted online at careers.walmart.com.

Many of the new employees will be hired in April to begin work stocking the store in May.

I dont get it. Everybody claims to hate WalMart but they always seem to be full of customers. Another thing I’ve noticed…The people shopping in Publix and the people shopping in WalMart don’t exactly look like neighbors to each other. Just sayin.

    CONTEMPLATING:
“When is everyone going to see that Wall Mart is trying to run all the businesses out of a town.. That is their aim all over this country.”

Then why have so many businesses been started and flourished even where they exist?

And why just this country since they have stores and suppliers all around the world?

And how would it benefit them to take over? How would it benefit their shareholders? How would they take over the movie business, neurosurgery, dam building, space program, dog grooming, plumbing, automotive industry, shipping, televangelist, …?

    David for unwasted effort
    In paranoia

When is everyone going to see that Wall Mart is trying to run all the businesses out of a town.. That is their aim all over this country. If you compare prices with local stores and take advantage of sales you will come to realize what they are doing. Keep using them and when the other stores go out of business watch what they do. I see more bargains in General Dollar and Dollar General than Wall Mart.

Don–It does appear that Walmart is trying to at least give Publix a run for their money…Publix will always have the vast majority of my business though; can’t beat their BOGOs or their Customer Service (something that Walmart severely lacks, although they are slightly improving in that area from what I’ve seen the 2 or 3 times that I’ve been in the Walmart Market at Pine Forest and Mobile Hwy in the past few months–in that same time frame I’ve been to Publix more than a dozen times)

This appears…and I did say appears to be another strategic move by the big-mart to shut down Publix.
Publix is their last grocery competitor left…hence the new liquor bill the “MART” bullied through.

I would love to see a Costco here in Pensacola. I live on the west side of town and at one time i heard costco was coming to pensacola. they were looking at the old Kmart location on Mobile Hwy. With Pensacola having so much military families here i think it is what we need. I do not go to Sam’s mainly because of the location. I hate that side of town.

Mark T, I would like a Costco here, too. I contacted corporate early last year. Apparently, Pensacola does not meet their criteria for whatever reason.

I don’t know why people are such nay sayers. A part time job is better than no job at all. Hopefully some of the employees will work enough hours that they will qualify for benefits. WalMart actually has some pretty good benefits and their starting pay is better than minimum wage. There are a lot of people out there that will be thankful to get a job period. And those welfare benefits you talk about. I know entirely too many people who could use the help and don’t qualify. Even if you are not a WalMart employee type of person, please do not put down those who will work at WalMart. A lot of WalMart employees are pretty smart and great at their job. Thankful for the stockers, sales associates and others who do work there.

We need businesses like Costco around here that start out around 16.00 dollars an hour with benefits so we can support ourselves and families. The Wal Mart business model is terrible…

The miniscule employee pool in this town is at the mercy of these welfare sustaining 10-12 hour per week low income jobs, the recently built “walmarket”
was a mistake and now to let this monster in.???.the city doesn’t care about growth,or creating quality employment only tax revenue…..but I guess in this day and age a 10 hour work week would be enough for any 25 year old with 3 kid’s that wants only the fewest hours to qualify for welfare benefits…
