Calvin W. “Boogie” Hayles

Mr. Calvin W. “Boggie” Hayles, 84, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015, in Bay Minette.

Mr. Hayles was a native and lifelong resident of Lottie. Mr. Hayles was founder and chief of Lottie Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as chief for 16 years and  was an active member until his death. He was retired from NAS Pensacola, a veteran of  the US Army and was a farmer. He was affectionately known as “Pop” by family and friends. He was member of the Lottie United Methodist Church.

Calvin Hayles, Jr. (Bubba) precedes him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Earlene Killam Hayles of Lottie; one son, Keith (Kathy) Hayles of Lottie; one daughter, Betty Lynn (David) Corley of Lottie; two sisters, Ila Mae Kendrick of Rosinton, AL and Eunice McNeil of Semmes, AL; four grandchildren, Justin, Riley, Blane and Jerrod; and one great-grandchild, Keaton.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 20, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Judd Coggin and Rev. Malcolm Harrelson officiating.

Burial will follow at Lottie Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2015 from noon until service time at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jerrod Hayles, Blane Waltman and four firemen.

Honorary pallbearers will be volunteer firemen.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC, is in charge of all arrangements.
