Teen Pleads Not Guilty To December ‘Brutal’ Murder Near Munson

January 16, 2015

An 18-year old accused of the December murder of her stepfather near Munson made a video appearance in court Thursday. Taylor Lynn Crongeyer  pleaded not guilty to the homicide charge against her.

Prosecutors said she shot 40-year Aubrey Dewayne Cooley who was found dead December 26 with a gunshot wound to his head at his Dale Hall Road home. He was tied to the trailer hitch of a pickup truck with a rope around his ankles.

When they arrived on scene, Crongeyer exited the residence with a large amount of blood on her clothing, according to an arrest report. When deputies walked through the residence, they found blood spots on the floor, a bedroom mattress and outside on the front and back porch areas. They also found a rifle on the floor at the foot of a bed in the master bedroom.

A spokesman for the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office called incident a “brutal homicide”, arresting Crongeyer just hours after the shooting.

She remains in the Santa Rosa County Jail without bond.

Let’s all just be thankful that she has been arrested and put behind bars so that she can never do this again. It’s very apparent that she had some type of mental problem going on that most didn’t or were not able to see. Hopefully being incarcerated she will be able to get the type of help that she needs. Maybe then, the entire family will be able to start the healing process and go forward.

Why is everyone so quick to judge. Everyone knows someone that was mistreated an more than you know. Too many are afraid to talk. No one knows what happens behind closed doors. Everyone is nice to the outside world but those who are the closest gets the bad situations. Why would a bright young lady so full of life do such a thing unless she was scared for herself an her younger sisters???? Theres more to this story. Please pray for this girl and her sisters. The true will come out!!

Y’all do not know Taylor. You don’t know her situation. You don’t have to be rude on here. Maybe she wasn’t able to defend herself when he was awake. He was like 6′5 and 300 lbs. Taylor was my height. 5′8 and skinny. She was a very SMART girl. She helped me in math all the time. She cared about me when no one else did. She isy friend. Something else had to have happened. I think she has a good reason for this. No one needs to judge. LEAVE THAT TO GOD.
    Love you Taylor. Stay strong.
    Praying for the whole situation…

With what is allowed to be printed and reported by the media, any “story” imagined might apply as to why she did it.

Maybe she did not kill him and was only trying to help cover up some one elses deed?

Pleading not guilty is pretty much S.O.P.

I know Taylor personally from school. She had such a kind heart and was out going & always took a stand for what she believed in! There is no way she just did it cause she was angry. There had to be something else for her to snap like this. Keep your head up Taylor!

@ dees, if you are referring to the donkey getting drug down hwy 29 in Molino, those two men did not get prison time, even though they both were convicted felons already. They both received probation, now having said that, if they did break probation then yes they went to prison for V.O.P. .And by the way after seeing what they did to the donkey i think they should have been drugged behind a truck and skipped the probation.

@ John– I have the same questions. Where is the rest of the family and where were they when this happen?

  10. john on January 16th, 2015 6:41 am

My first question is how was police alerted to the scene, did she call them?
    Did she drag him outside?
    Did he rape her?
    Where was her mother?
    Where was her real father?

“not guilty”, What does that mean? It means that some lawyer is fixing to get a lot of tax payers money to stretch the truth, out right lie, and tell all kinds of wild bull. The girl shot and killed the man. That can’t be overlooked or ignored.

The girl stood up to that monster and put him down.

Hopefully the prosecutor will realize that this girl is a victim of abuse and not just another potential notch for his record.
