Susie Penton

Susie Penton, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2015. She passed away peacefully at her home in Flomaton. She was born November 10, 1930, in Flomaton to Warren and Ruby Burkett. She retired from Monsanto.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shelia Bahner; brothers, Charles, Joe and Dempsy Burkett.

She is survived by her children, Wayne (JoAnn) Huie, Bruce (Myrtic) Huie, Jim (Debbie) Huie and Tom Huie; sisters, Francis (Ed) Hayles, Reatha Kelly, Rockelle Bankston, Essie Amodeo, Mary Daniels and Edwina (Alton) Colloway; brothers, Buddy Burkett, Shep (Lois) Burkett, Robert Burkett and Arthur Burkett; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Jerry Myers.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Mr. James Pugh officiating.

Burial will follow at the Moyeville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Burkett, Jerry Myers, Jim Huie, Josh Huie, Robert Burkett and Steven Huie.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes is in charge of all arrangements.
