Read Like Crazy: Molino Park Premieres Literacy Week Video

January 29, 2015

A couple of days ago, we brought you the story a reading flash mob at Molino Park Elementary School.  Music teacher Katie Powell rewrote the words to the popular song “Call Me Maybe” and created the “Read Like Crazy” video. The final version of the video is now complete, and it’s posted below.

If you don’t see the video above , it’s because your work, school or home firewall is blocking YouTube videos.

My child totally loved participating in this activity. She practiced so much that I really believe I could have taken part in this activity myself, every word of the song and motion to go with it. School can be fun like this and lots of learning takes place just as much as the same old way. I completely agree with adding fun stuff along with the regular stuff. I think they learn a lot and old and new ways complete each other quite well.

Great job Molino Park! Put a smile on my face just watching the kids. Something that they always will remember. Everyone should get lost in a good book. Set an example and let your children or grandchildren see you read.
