Molino Man Sentenced For Attacking His Mom, 87, With Telephone

January 17, 2015

A Molino man has been sentenced for attacking his 87-year old mother with a telephone handset.

Conrad Lee Micari was sentenced to 36 months probation, 50 hours of community service and ordered to pay $870 in court costs.

The elderly woman called 911 last October to report that her son, Micari,  was drunk and tearing things up in her residence on Straughn Road in Molino. The 911 dispatcher reported that the phone went dead after she heard a scuffle.

When deputies arrived, the victim told them that Micari heard her on the phone with the 911 operator, snatched the phone out of her hand and used it to strike her several times on her leg. Escambia County EMS was called to the home to evaluate the 87-year old, who told deputies that she felt like she was going to have a heart attack.

Micari was “extremely intoxicated” and refused to discuss the incident with deputies, according to an arrest report.

I’m sure his mother will pay his fine and probation. Conrad here is a tip, cut your hair, move out of your mothers house and man up.

Micari plead “no contest” and Judge Gary L. Bergosh is the one guilty of being soft (again).
I suppose since Escambia has no jail, they do not want to pay a premium to jail him in another county.
And this was a FELONY charge.
His past record list several domestic violence/disturbance/relations charges.

We can conclude that the judge places no value on elderly persons.

I have seen less crime and they are at camp 5 working along the road, good lord whats wrong with that judge.how is he gona pay his fines when he has never worked.his poor mom has put up with him along time.unless she would not testify against him. I bet he does not do community work either and then he will go to jail. you mean to your mom one time you will do it again. shame on you Conrad.

    Oh Lord….Probation???
Who, pray tell, was the judge that made this decision?
Do we get to vote for him/her and if so When?

This guy will be drunk and stupid and mean soon again.

This guy is a monster who would do such a thing he should of had to do some jail time if he would do his mother like this just think what he might do to someone else

We have some real pieces of work in the judicial system of this county. Hard labor by the side of the road each and everyday, rain or shine, hot or cold…with a sign saying
” I beat my 87 year old Mother and I’m a drunk.” Let him do that for ninety days, with the judge supervising/guarding him.

The road side will be cleaner…maybe?

There are conditions that you must follow when you’re on probation. They’re added by the prosecutor and agreed on as part of the plea. Some of them are: seek and attend counseling,no alcohol or drugs(testing required and pd for by the criminal),no posession of firearms or weapons,no contact with victim and community service(fees also pd by criminal). Having said this I stick with my original statement of probation being a slap on the wrist

Now he can get angrier, more drunk, and then hit his mother with something even worse than the telephone. This sentencing will really make him want to change. And what kind of message does it send to others? He got off e-a-s-y.

Be sure to remember this judge’s name come election time. Too bad the judge didn’t order him to stay away from alcohol!! Community service? Would you want this character around your business performing community service? Probation ?What a joke!!

So many judges use poor judgement in sentencing. What about this is going to keep him from drinking and being violent again? NOTHING. Hurting her again. NOTHING.

“Mr. Micari don’t you get drunk and beat up your Mother again. OK? Good you can go.”

So no punishment just a “don’t do that again”. What is wrong with these judges? If your not going to give him time in jail then send him to get help somewhere. Anyone that will beat on his own mother will have no problem with beating someone else. Probation is usually nothing to people who will do things like this.

I’m sure Micari was snickering and giggling at the judge under his breath as he left.

I bet that hefty sentence wiped that smirk off of his face…..or maybe not.

He will just do it again only next time she might not survive or she may be severely injured! I hope she doesn’t let him in her house again.
