January 13, 2015

Henry “Bud” Palmer, 70 years old, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 12, 2015. Bud was born in Newburgh, NY, on December 24, 1944, and raised by Ella Mae Palmer. After graduating from Kingston High School in 1963, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He graduated boot camp at Naval Station Great Lakes in Chicago, IL in 1964.

Upon graduating he was assigned to the USS Lexington CV-16 in Pensacola where he met his loving wife and best friend, Carolyne Ruth Palmer of 49 years. On September 18,1965, Bud embarked on his greatest journey yet when he married his true love. Shortly after, he was deployed on the USS Lexington where he carried out the remainder of his service before being medically discharged. After returning home, he moved back up North, and eventually returned to Pensacola where he resided for over 30 years. Bud had numerous passions throughout his life including bowling, poetry, NASCAR and rebuilding his 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk. Most recently, he was made a Honorary Deputy at ECSD by Sheriff Morgan. His greatest passion, however, was the love of his wife and family, including his beloved dogs, Pepper and Cinnamon.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyne; sons, Gary Palmer (wife Kim) and Fred Palmer (wife Becky); daughter, Sherry Cassidy; 10 grandchildren; sisters Barbara Palmer and Debbie McAllister; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Eugene Bailey (wife Sherry), sister-in-law, Rosetta Blauser; and dear friends Ed and Jeanette Solis and Randy and Debbie Barnes.
