Gene Maness worked with my father, Hank Wilson, logging Alger Sullivan lands for ten years from 1957 to 1967 and was one of his most valued employees, trusted to handle the most complex logging operations. Daddy used to take me into the woods with him every time he could, and I wish I had a nickel for every time Daddy stopped his truck by the Maness house on Hwy 31 just north of the cut off to Barnett’s Crossroads, either coming or going to the logging operations. I just happened to visit this web site at the perfect time to see this notice, and am so glad I did. Sending lots of Wilson love to the Maness family, and can assure you that Daddy will be there to meet him when he arrives on the farther shore.
