January 10, 2015
The Escambia County Commission recognized last week as First Responder Appreciation Week and issued a proclamation thanking area first responders and their families. Accepting the proclamation on behalf of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office were four of the six deputies shot in the line of duty in the last six years. Pictured are: Deputy 1st Class Ryan Robinson, Sergeant Shedrick Johnson, Deputy Chad Brown and Deputy Jason Ates. (The two deputies shot in the line of duty not shown are Deputy Jeremy Cassidy and Deputy 1st Class Sam Parker.) Submitted photo for NorthEscambia.com, click to enlarge.

Thank you BOCC for honoring those deputies. They have a tough and dangerous job and most of the time they receive little thanks. Thank you for serving Escambia County. Be careful and God Bless.
Thank you for honoring our first responders, this is way overdue.
Now that the state of Florida has a surplus of funding maybe
Gov. Scott will do the right thing and give back the 3% tax he
Levied on all the paychecks of first responders.
All state and county employees, police officers, firefighters,
Correctional officers, teachers, park rangers.
Gov. Scott and the Florida legislators should be ashamed for
What they did to our first responders. They put their lives on the
Line for us every day. Gov Scott give their money back so they
Can support their families. This is why the PBA did not endorse
Gov. Scott’s re-election.
Thanking every one of the first responders for all that they do to help us! I appreciate you all so very much!
What a great thing to do for a great group of people
