The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man they say attacked and robbed an elderly man.

According to information released Tuesday by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred November 24 in the lobby of a hotel on Plantation Road when the suspect asked an 81-year old man for money. After the man gave him $5, the suspect followed him, jumped on him and tried to take his wallet. He was unsuccessful in taking the wallet, but did take an additional $2 from the victim before fleeing on foot.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect or the crime is asked to contact Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers at (850) 433-STOP. Callers do not have to give their name and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Maybe his next victim will be an old broke-down retired cop…..& please folks, don’t refer to this animal as a man. That, he is not.

Damn sissy. Go rob the dopeman not an oldman. Too bad nobody got involved. That punk shoulda been beaten bloody waiting on an ambulance. Any young man who may have seen this and not done anything is just as cowardly as the attacker.

Somehow I don’t think we “just” have a crime problem. I think we have another problem which few people are willing to discuss.

The homeless community is out of control in Pensacola! Something must be done…

@Bewildered, I agree that most of Pensacola, excepting the higher millage areas, is in a sad state of decline. The dangerous and deserted malls, a dollar store on every corner and no medium to high end retailers. I have been looking for a nice high-fi shop with a sound room and larger wide inventory. There are none and the only one that comes close is Best Buy. It finally dawned on me that the reason everything here is Walmart culture is because Escambia county is bottom of the bucket and hand to mouth.

We have all these bums/mentally ill/ and unemployed citizens here and elsewhere, rising crime and poverty, why do we want to bring in all these immigrants to increase an already bad national condition…

On the Westside of Pensacola panhandlers are everywhere. I went to Lowe’s on Fairfield Drive yesterday and encountered three. They waited until I loaded merchandise into my car and then approached asking for money. While going through the Drive-Thru at Captain D’s I encountered the same thing. I got my money ready and rolled down the window – voila – a guy was right there asking for money so he could eat also. I don’t feel comfortable in such situations, I am over 70 years old and a female. Why can’t these people prey on folks that could stand up to them or choose liberal minded individuals that supposedly understand their “undeserved” predicament?

Not exactly wiseone, the elderly gentleman GAVE that piece of trash $5. To prove his masculinity and street cred, he beat the 81 year old for $2.

looks like the same guy on the left side of home page, the one that took five bux and the two more bux. just sayin

This is one reason why I’m reluctant to give panhandlers any money. As soon as you open your wallet they’re looking to see what else is in there.

Took an old man’s kindness for weakness…scumbag, worthless coward.

People like that! If you shoot them in the head in most instances they never know what happened. Best to gut shoot them first so that they realize that this is really happening, give them a chance to appreciate the gravity of the situation.

I hope the elderly gentleman recovers and that I live to see this world cleansed of such scum as his assailant.

Wish local law enforcement would release pictures and videos sooner. We the citizens are your eyes and ears as well as there is no loyalty among dirt bags looking for a reward to snitch.
