Lloyd O’Neil Biggs

Mr. Lloyd O’Neil Biggs, 89, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014, in Atmore.

Mr. Biggs was a native of Lottie, Alabama, former resident of Atmore and a resident of Canoe since 1996. Mr. Biggs was a lifetime deacon and retired U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Armontine “Tina” Godwin Biggs; five brothers, Melvin Biggs, Leroy Biggs, Gladyn Biggs, J.T. Biggs and Otha Biggsl; and three sisters, Dorothy Little, Ernestine Rasberry and Nell Pressley.

Survivors include his wife, Virgie Smith Biggs of Canoe; son, Mike O’Neil (Peggy) Biggs of Houston, TX; daughters, Cheryl Biggs (David) Campbell of Birmingham, AL, Charlotte Killam of Flomaton and Mary Davis of Bratt; brother, Ray (Duane) Biggs of Bay Minette; grandchildren, Ty (Veronica) Biggs, Taryn Biggs (Dedrick) Fields, Jeremy (Nikki) Campbell, Candice Campbell, Brittany, Travis, Justin, Chelsea, Colton and Natasha; great-grandchildren, Harper, Addie, Mason and Colton.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnold Hendricks and Rev. Mike Grindle officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014, from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the First Baptist Church of Atmore.

Pallbearers will be military.

Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Peebles, Travis Moye, Ty Biggs, Jeremy Campbell, David Lambert and Dwane Glick.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Atmore in memory of Mr. Lloyd Biggs.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes, LLC is in charge of all arrangements.

    Saw Lloyd recently and talked with him recently. He was a cousin of mine but so sorry we did not about his death until just reading it. Our sincere condolences to all the family.
