Atmore Pizza Hut Damaged By Fire

A Monday afternoon fire damaged the Pizza Hut restaurant in Atmore.

Restaurant employees reported smoke coming from the ceiling inside the restaurant about 3:20 p.m. The first firefighters on scene reported finding fire in exterior wall and in the ceiling and possibly the attic of the business. The fire was quickly brought under control.

The official cause of the fire has not yet been determined; however, the fire is believed to have been electrical in nature.

The businesses suffered minor fire and smoke damage, along with more extensive water damage. It is expected that the restaurant will be closed at least for a few days.

The Atmore and Poarch fire department responded to the fire. There were no injuries reported.
