Suzanne Lucie Carter, age 68, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014.

Suzanne was a longtime resident of Cantonment and a devoted member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church. She worked at Baptist Hospital for many years before retiring. Her greatest joy was being with family and close friends.

She was a member of the Pro-Life Committee and Legion of Mary. Once retired, she enjoyed being with her grandsons and attending church with her sister at St. Jude’s. While attending Pensacola Junior College she acted as editor of the college newspaper, the Corsair. In the 1980’s she was very active in Boy Scouts with her sons as a den mother for Pack 410 and a committee member of Troop 403.

Suzanne’s faith and charitable spirit was beautiful and inspiring to those around her. The dedication to her family became her second career. She loved to cook, shop, and spend time with her younger sister.

Suzanne was preceded by her husband, Wallace, Sr.; mother, Yvonne; father, Florent; and grandson, Gabriel.

She is survived by her sons, Wallace, Jr. and Charles; grandson, Eryn; one sister, Monique; and two brothers, Alan P. and Gerard L.

Funeral Mass was held at St. Jude’s in Cantonment on Friday November 21, with Father George and Father Tom officiating.

Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a charitable donation to St. Jude’s Catholic Church or Alpha Center.

Pallbearers were Eryn Carter, Rodney Jan Rani, Mark Calma, Edwin Daniels, Derek Grant, Lawance Davis.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North is entrusted with arrangements.
