Oma Lee Rutherford

Mrs. Oma Lee Rutherford, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, in Century.

Mrs. Rutherford was a native of McCullough and a resident of Atmore for most of her life. Mrs. Rutherford was a loving wife to the late O’Neal Rutherford, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved and enjoyed the company of family and friends. She retired from Vanity Fair after 46 years of service and she was a member of the Brooks Memorial Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, O’Neal Rutherford.

Survivors include her son, David (Marla) Rutherford of Atmore; one sister, Annie Joyce Roberson of Atmore; five grandchildren, Kyna (Michael) McDonald, Denise (Blake) Bowen, Ashley Rutherford, Cathlyn Eanes and Patricia Eanes; and six great-great grandchildren, Jackson Bonner, Lillian Bonner, Blaze Bryant, Jasmine Bryant, Jacob Bailey and Cadence Bailey.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 22, 2014, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Grindle officiating.

Burial was at the Miller Cemetery.

Pallbearers were William Terry, Michael McDonald, Chad Patterson, Buddy Patterson, Casey Patterson and John Stroud.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Century Care Center and The Terrace at Ivy Acres Assisted Living in Jay for making Mrs. Rutherford apart of their family.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes is in charge of all arrangements.
