Local Unemployment Rate Dips Slightly, Florida’s Rate Lowest Since 2008

The latest job numbers released Friday show the unemployment level decreasing in the North Escambia area.
Escambia County’s unemployment slipped from 6.0 percent in September to 5.8 percent in October. There were 8,198 people reported unemployed during the period. One year ago, unemployment in Escambia County was 6.6 percent.
Santa Rosa County unemployment also decreased, from 5.5 to 5.2 percent from September to October. Santa Rosa County had a total of 3,925 persons still unemployed. The year-ago unemployment rate in Santa Rosa County was 5.9 percent.
In Escambia County, Alabama, unemployment decreased from 7.6 percent in September to 7.3 percent in October. That represented 1,025 people unemployed in the county during the month. One year ago, the unemployment rate in Escambia County, Alabama, was 7.8 percent
Florida’s jobless mark dipped slightly from 6.1 percent in September to a six-year-low of 6.0 percent in October, with the strongest growth found in education, health care and service-related fields. The state’s unemployment rate is the lowest since June 2008. Florida’s mark, which is above the national rate of 5.8 percent, has wavered between 6.2 percent and 6.3 percent most of this year.
Alabama’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, at 6.3 percent in October, was down from September’s rate of 6.6 percent and was the same as the year-ago rate of 6.3 percent.
The jobless numbers released by Florida and Alabama do not include persons that have given up on finding a job and are no longer reported as unemployed.

unemployment goes down and politicians are blamed?
Buy American Made Products when ever you can, and if they don’t have it ask why not and DEMAND it ! That’s the only thing that’s going to help this Country.. Screw the Politicians, cause obviously they don’t work for US. !!!!
