Chip Truck Overturns In Cantonment

An 18-wheeler hauling wood chips overturned just before 5:00 on Tree Road at the International Paper in Cantonment Sunday.

The Cantonment Station of Escambia Fire Rescue, with the assistance of a passing ladder truck from Century, worked to contain a minor fuel spill. There were no injuries reported in the incident.

The accident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

    I pulled a load of chips in close to noon and figured somebody rolled their truck when I saw a pile of chips.

    Glad no one hurt. These guys(girls) are hard workers and go all day they get paid by the load and are usually careful because their trucks are the way they make their living.
