Bill Would Allow Online Florida Lottery Sales
November 26, 2014
Florida lottery players could buy tickets with the click of a mouse instead of having to stop by the corner store, under a proposal filed by Sen. Gwen Margolis, D-Miami.
The proposalĀ filedĀ for the 2015 legislative session, would allow the Florida Lottery to create a program in which people ages 18 and older could buy lottery tickets online. Currently, the lottery sells tickets through more than 13,000 retailers but does not sell tickets online or by mail or fax, according to the agency’s website.

Ha ha! What about the ones who buy a dozen scratch off tickets and then stand there to scratch them in case they have a winner? People are lined up 8 deep behind them and the clerk has to tell them to go scratch the tickets elsewhere and get into line if they have a winner. They don’t like that! Takes too much time between the ticket purchase and gratification.
This online process will certainly be a relief to the normal (relative) checkout customer, but I think that some of these Lotto Fiends really need the interpersonal interaction of the ticket purchase process.
Who are we to impede a beings social development,,, though sometimes I would like to help with their adjustment, if you know what I mean. Especially when they grind the checkout process to a halt.
If you are shy, or embarrassed by your lotto affliction, then remember that there is always the kiosk.
