Rita Diane Croley

Ms. Rita Diane Croley, age 59 of Brewton, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

Ms. Croley was born in Century and had been a lifelong resident of the Flomaton and Century communities where she worked as a florist for 34 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Croley was preceded in death by her mother, Lula Mae Johnson; a sister, Glenda Mae Jerkins; and a nephew, Frankie “Trucker” Carnley, Jr.

She is survived by her father, Melvin Johnson of Jay; her special friend and companion, Billy Byrd of Brewton; a daughter, Melita (Lavon) White of Flomaton; a stepson, Greg Byrd of Atlanta, GA; a stepdaughter, Vonda (Malcolm) Buckhault of Atmore; grandchildren, Zac (Alex) White, Kegan White; step-grandchild, Maloire Buckhault; great-grandchild, Zhane White.

Funeral services were held on Friday, October 24, 2014, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dexter Trusdell officiating.

Interment was in Little Escambia Cemetery in Flomaton.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Lee, Larry Zangas, Ken Jernigan, Steve Stanton, Malett Rowland, Jeffery Lacy and Jason Lacy.

    I am so sorry to hear of one dearest old friends passing. We had great teenage memories, though, we lost touch for many years. I still loved her very much. She will be, so missed. RIP Rita.
