I saw this on my way to work. I am so amazed that he lived. I hope recovers. Hydroplaning is so scary!

I think most don’t realize that the speed limit there where this wreck occured is 55 mph. No one ever drives less than 65 in that area. If you do, you’re going to get run over. And the speed limit is rarely being enforced anywhere on the interstate these day. Drive 85 mph if you want to, no one cares…… that is until you have an accident!

It’s not speeding as in exceeding the posted limit. It’s speed too fast for the condition of the road. As a driver of a motor vehicle you are responsible for that.

ALOT of people dont realize when you Hyroplane: If your not speeding when hit the water because your tires loose Contact with the pavement this will cause your car to automacticlly speed up due to mere force of spinning and weight.

You don’t have to be exceeding the speed limit to hydroplane – I know, been there and done that. And yes, they do cite you for careless driving………

I disagree with “Mark”. I have hydroplaned when hitting a puddle of water before and I was not speeding. Not say it wasn’t the case here, just saying it can happen even when not speeding.

I hope this gentleman recovers quickly. Prayers for the family.

I saw this wreck yesterday morning. My heart broke for whomever was in the vehicle. I thought no way could anyone survive that. He maybe in serious condition but the good lord was watching over him. Praying

Poor guy true. However “hydroplaning” is cause by driving faster then the road conditions allow when its raining.

He was most likely charged with careless driving because he was exceeding the speed limit…..don’t know for sure but that’s what I’d guess…

How is it careless when you hydroplane in water standing in the road? Poor guy.
