I am sorry to hear about his passing. He was a major influence my life. I was blessed to have known a man of such integrity, leadership, and compassion. I have tried to follow his example through out my life. To meet changes head on, and to be a leader of men. Those of us who were lucky enough to have him as an instructor, are truly blessed. He will be missed by all those who’s lives he touched. My prayers are with him and his family. The world has lost a wonderful man.

My condolences to CSM Helton’s family. He was a great teacher and soldier while I was in his JROTC Classes at Tate. He was one of the reasons I joined the United States Army, and follow on retirement.

Command Sergeant Major Helton was a fine gentleman. I enjoyed the privilege of his instruction and guidance during my ROTC years at Tate High School.

    My condolences to his family.
