Larry E. Hayslip

Larry E. Hayslip, 70, of Pensacola, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014. He retired from U.S. Navy and Civil Service at NAS Pensacola. He was a member of Pine Forest Estates Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of VFW and American Legion #340. He enjoyed his BBQ competitions, fishing, bluegrass gospel singing, reading books and babysitting his youngest granddaughter, Bailey.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Margaret Hayslip; sister, Chris Hayslip; brother, Gary Robert Hayslip and his canine companions, Sparky and Bubba.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Davis Hayslip; four children, Gary Hayslip (Sandi), Tracy Beckham, Kenneth Hayslip and Misty Fowler (Paul); nine grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Matthew, Shayne, Shianne, Alex, Ashlynn, Zachary and Bailey; siblings, Janice McCarty, Stephen Hayslip (Norma), Joyce Hayslip (Ronnie) and Gloria Smith (Doug) and his  canine companions, BJ and Roe.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Meaux, Matthew Beckham, Paul Fowler and Carl Peacock.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Beckham and members of the VFW.

The family requests in lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to St. Jude’s Society in Larry E. Hayslip’s name.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Pastor Mike Davis and Pastor Charlie Isaac officiating.

Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home South is entrusted with arrangements.
