Heat Index, Afternoon Temps Climb

Temperatures will be on the rise for the rest of the week, but the heat index will be the big story the next few days.  Heat indices of 103-108 are forecast Tuesday through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Here is your official North Escambia area forecast:

  • Tuesday Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 93. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Tuesday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Wednesday A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the morning.
  • Wednesday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 73. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Thursday A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 96. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
  • Thursday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
  • Friday A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 98. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.
