ECSO: Man Assaults Girlfriend Upon Learning He’s Going To Be A Daddy

August 14, 2014

A Flomaton man did not take the news that he was going to be a daddy very well, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

The mom-to-be met her live-in boyfriend, 29-year old Jasper Terail Scott of Flomaton,  in the area of Highway 4 and North Century Boulevard to deliver the news that she was pregnant with his child.  Scott became agitated, began to argue about the pregnancy, grabbed the victim by the arms, slapped her in the face and put his hand around her neck, according to an arrest report.

The victim contacted deputies and filed a report, leading to Scott’s arrest on a felony count of aggravated battery when the offender knew the victim was pregnant. Scott was released from the Escambia County Jail on a $2,000 bond.

If I was her, I would demand a maternity test, deny it was my baby, and get away from the creep.

    Now good folks
You have to know he didn’t get to this point by himself. Kinda bad it couldn’t have been before she got to this point.

thats so horrible :( i really hope there is a restraining order now, because my guess is that this guy will not stop until the poor girl is dead. :/

Gotta love the folks who say he must have been provoked while declaring his goodness
    You are what you do.
    You do what you are.

Therefore if he is good and does these things, these things must be good and we just don’t understand.

    David for better understanding

U never no what happen she probably was doing something to him i no he wouldn’t just do that cuz she said she was pregnant but there’s two sides to every story but a man shouldn’t never out his hands on a woman pregnant or not!!!

REAL big man to hit a woman…much less a pregnant one. He might not have been worried about her dad(if she has one) before but I can GUARANTEE that if I was her dad and he even made an aggressive MOVE towards her, I would be a far bigger problem for her than the pregnancy that this loser is 1/2 responsible for!! This is PART of the problem in the country today……. just PART of it!!

Dude don’t want to be a daddy?
    Not a problem.
Bet we can raise the money to take him to the Vet for a quick and forever fix.
Save us taxpayers a bundle too.

I know these two involved and can say Jasper is a good guy, but probably had a case of temporary insanity by hitting a young lady. I can tell you first hand, you never know how that meeting between the two went, but it’s not right for anyone to hit another. I only see it getting worse if they end back up together. This will be the first fight of many once this guy finds out how much the Florida Welfare (child support) System is going to make him pay. This little blessing to her will soon feel like a curse to him. Hopefully the mother will be responsible enough to use the money on the child and not get nails, hairs, and toes done with someone elses money.

@John: “You make your bed you’re gonna have to lay in it.” LOL – Isn’t that how this all started in the first place?

Here is a truth. If a couple isn’t going to make a commitment to marriage first, than they probably won’t commit to raising children. Chances are us taxpayers will raise this baby, and also I feel bad for that little baby it is going to get a bad deal right from the start. And last a bet the father doesn’t even have a job.

You make your bed your gonna have to lay in it.

If he didn’t want to be a daddy he should have kept his pants on and zipped. I hope this woman has enough sense to stay away from him…too many women are hurt and even killed by domestic violence every year.

    Inexcusable!

He is probably afraid of her father, of being run over with a big truck or shot, something like that.

Felony assault: $2,000. That’s only $200 he had to come up with. Fricking ridiculous.

This is what you call a ’sperm donor’, not a ‘Daddy’! A leech on society. She will probably be back with baby-daddy as soon as he gets out of jail.

  15. CD on August 14th, 2014 3:24 am

He may be the biological father, but will probably never be a ‘daddy’. For the uninformed, there is a difference!

The act allegedly committed by this young man is sad and disgusting. Ladies please consider the track record of a guy before entering into a relationship with him. If a man has ever put his hands on a woman once, then more than likely it will happen again. I pray strength and healing on the woman who was hurt during this attack. I also pray that she has the wisdom and fortitude to stay away from him. Domestic violence is not a joke.
