As a young child my mom would take me to these and it was always a great time. My mom always provided a beautiful life for me I only wish hers would have been the same. My mom suffered from mental illness. When I read comments of people being so judging it always makes me wonder how a woman like my mom lived as long as she did knowing how people looked down on her. Just because some children have nice clothes and other things does not mean they are financially OK.
I just hope people do not go there to take advantage of this generosity being offered to those in need….. There are some who will have the ability to get the school supplies themselves, but will take the free giveaways just because it is being offered….. greed. SMH.
This is a very kind thing to do. Sometimes I wonder why some of the big people who do these things for back to school make it feel so shameful to be down. Atleast the children that get help from this wont have to go to school feeling ashamed because of the teacher having to get the stuff and give it to them in front of others and the parents also won’t feel shame. Thank you for helping and not shaming.
