Second Arrest In Baby Beating

Days after the arrest of a Santa Rosa County man that allegedly beat a baby with his hands and fists, a woman has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Angela Marie Morris, 27, was charged with a felony count of child neglect with great bodily harm and a misdemeanor count of perjury. She was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail Friday with bond set at $20,000.
Joseph Shawn Walker, 27, was arrested last week for felony cruelty toward a child and aggravated child abuse for allegedly striking the six-month old repeatedly because the baby would not stop crying at a baseball park. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that the incident occurred inside a vehicle, not around other people in the ballpark.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to call from the Santa Rosa Medical Center where the 6-month old baby had been taken. The baby suffered a skull fracture, extensive bruising to the head and face area, and bruising to the abdomen shoulders and back. The baby was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital and remains in intensive care.
Morris allegedly provided false information during the investigation. The Sheriff’s Office redacted information from her arrest report that specified what information she provided.

He is the father and she is the mother. I hope they both get what they have coming to them. She covered for him by saying that something else happened because thats what he told her. Then she said he did it and tried to cover it. She knew the whole time. I hope they never get their kids back!
I’m so sad!! I hope they will be in jail for years and never out of jail, I’m heartbreaking sicko people. So sadness ! go hearts to the children. I’m their side supporting of against abuse . No more abuse , this must stop the violence.
Both should get life in prison…..she is just as guilty for lying. I hope they never see the children again.

Liz you’re right! Many abused women would rather take the abuse than have one of their children abused. That’s what a “normal” mother does. This mother doesn’t look like she’s been losing any sleep over the attempted murder of her infant. Look at the white of her eyes. They’re not red from crying day and night with worry over her baby. I pray she nor this monster for a dad will ever have custody of any of their children again. I know I sound judgmental. In this case it’s impossible not to be. No excuse!!!
I don’t have any comment on the mother, but the ignorant savage that injured that child deserves the full wrath of Florida law. I’d call him a mean man, but men don’t act like that. Shame on you J. Walker.

I say let me give them their punishment.they should never be able to see daylight again.i had a baby that died at a mth and half old due to something other than this.but it really irks me that someone can harm their own child.loose one then you will have a differant outlook.
Her face looks fine… Doesn’t look like she tried to stop him…. Even abused women tend to finally stand up when it comes to their kids.

I was an abused wife for 6 very long years but I can assure you that in NO way would I have EVER let some disgusting human being lay 1 finger on my child. I would go to the ends of the earth to protect her. There is NO excuse whatsoever!!!

I like the way you think Dennis! In cases like this, having tubes tied and a “vast difference in the vas deferens” vasectomy should be conditions of parole if convicted. The last thing this couple needs is to have any more children.
Of course, hopefully he will be out of circulation for a long time.
Good parents are a blessing from God, but so much in life is luck of the draw.

What she did was wrong. What he did was horrendous. But while you are questioning her motives etcetera for letting this happen. You werent there, you dont know if she tried to stop him, or what else happened. Abused women can relate, and no one else will ever be able to fully understand. A woman who is being abused is a victim. She is not free to leave because her abuser threatens to find her and do worse. Yes, she should stand up for herself and her kids, but its just not that simple. Those of you who have been there dont need further explaination. Those of you who havent, can never understand. I pray she gets away from this abusive man, and gets the help she needs to break the cycle. I pray he gets the help he needs to deal with his anger issues, and that God deals with him in His way. But most of all, I pray the innocent baby is alright and thank God she is too young to remember this.

As a mother I can not imagine how someone can do this much less let someone do it to their child. A baby can’t defend themselves. I hope the baby will b fine and they will find him a home where he can be loved and taken care of the way a baby should be. And I hope that they make her get fixed so that she can never have a baby to let this happen to again . And he needs to go to prison and be put in with some of the dads that don’t get to see their children.
I just cant understand the life or well being of a child is worth so little that she was given such alow bond.

It is extremely hard to understand how a “MOTHER”, that gave Birth to a Child, can love some man more than “HER” Child! I sincerely hope she never has a chance to see that Baby again. To know your Child was beaten, and then to Lie about it, is about as BAD as anyone can get. I truly hope the Baby can recover and go forward to live a wonderful life with someone that will TRULY LOVE the child.
