Molino Man Charged With Multiple Thefts In Florida And Alabama

June 16, 2014

A Molino man is facing charges in multiple thefts in Escambia counties in both Florida and Alabama.

Dakota John Kimrey of Chalker Road was arrested Friday in Century on charges from Escambia County, Ala., and he is now facing more charges in Florida.  Charges between the two counties include multiple counts of grand theft, dealing in stolen property and attempted burglary.

Authorities said Kimrey, 21, was responsible for the theft of at least nine utility trailers, game cameras, feeders and other items from hunting camps in both states between February and June of this year. Numerous items, including over half of the utility trailers, have been recovered by law enforcement.

Kimrey is being held in the Escambia County, Fla., jail without  bond.

As previously reported by NorthEscambia.com, Kimrey was arrested on June 3 on two counts of grand theft and two counts of uttering a forged instrument for allegedly writing checks stolen from his mother.

    Molino Jim,
If I am reading it right, he only had one grand theft auto charge and conviction back in 2011, when he was 18 and treated as a youthful offender, one parking violation for which he paid the fine and a new grand theft auto charge last month with a trial scheduled in August.

He has a bunch of charges since then, but they were all filed on the same day for the activities listed above.

It is not unreasonable to give a kid a second chance.
It would be unreasonable to be so lenient if he is convicted of the second GTA or the other crimes.

    We shall see.

    David for second chances
(third, fourth, fifth, … not so much)

For those who want to know what’s wrong with the “system” please go to the Escambia Clerk of the Court –record search. Read the report on him for “grand theft auto”. Each time he was released on bond he didn’t show up for court. He served 83 days in the county jail. Read just on that charge and it should help explain why the court system is bogged down.

You’re bold for being a burglar in the south with all the gun nuts and such. Including me. If this is not his first offense then they should throw the book at this no good, low life, criminal.

If you let Alabama have a crack at him, I’ll bet he will get more than a slap on the wrist!! I hope both states prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law!

    >>would I go to see if my game camera was recovered in items t

I would first contact the deputy or investigator that worked your case. If not, the law enforcement agency that handle it.

    William,

Where would I go to see if my game camera was recovered in items that law enforcement found?

  7. lock him up! on June 17th, 2014 2:24 am

If you look this guy up he has a list of charges in multiple counties at 21 that’s sad, he stole a utility trailer from my family a few weeks ago they have since got it back but with out any lumber on the bottom because he sold it for scrap! He was arrested and released but I’m glad to see he has no bond set as of now which they said this the other week as well. A guy like this needs to be sitting behind bars for some time maybe he can get a taste of what’s its like and want to change and stop stealing from hardworking people like my family and become a real man and work for what he needs.

A vandal is worse than a thief. At least a thief steals for personal gain. A vandal just destroys for the joy of destruction.

    Both actions are trashy, though.

    David for better people

A couple of years hard labor may wipe that stupid halfwit smirk off of his face

  11. oh please on June 16th, 2014 4:00 pm

OH PLEASE!!! someone please slap that smirk off his face! Stop stealing from people! Get a job and if you have one get another one… save your money and buy something for yourself rather than take it from people who work hard to pay bills and afford little extras for their families. To bad he didn’t steal a razor and some clippers to clean up his appearance!

Nothing worse then a thief. Too lazy to scratch out a living, so they steal from those that have..
