Man Faces Life For Beach Sexual Battery

June 28, 2014

An area man is facing up to life in prison when he’s sentenced on sexually battery charges.

Bret Randall May, 43, was convicted by an Escambia County Jury of kidnapping and two counts of sexual battery. The charges stemmed from allegations that in the early morning hours of August 25, 2013, May forced an intoxicated woman into his car, transported her to a secluded area of Pensacola Beach and sexually battered her. Witnesses notified law enforcement who located the defendant’s vehicle and witnessed the attack.

May is a registered sexual predator having been convicted previously of three sexually related offenses in the state of Alabama.

Sentencing will be set at a later date.

    Jane,

Anyone can offer to teach. How often have YOU checked credentials. I never have.

Further, he may have been a good teacher. Just because he’s scum doesn’t mean he can’t teach.

If he was convicted before, why is he here, out on the streets, and of all things, why was he allowed to conduct classes for women? Who licensed this guy to conduct classes? Doesn’t anyone conduct a background check to see if he has a record?

Paul- you’re idea of beating him up is a great one, but what this article doesn’t say is that this guy is well trained in multiple forms of martial arts. He used to offer jui-jitsu, kickboxing and women’s self defense classes at a gym in Gulf Breeze. Ironically, it was him you’d be learning how to get away from. This guy is extremely creepy and hopefully finally off the streets for good!

The sentence will determine how long he has to wait to do it again.

The state of Alabama should be ashamed for letting this scum walk the streets..
If I would have witnessed him doing it his mugshot sure would look different.
