Teach your teen how to avoid such over correction accidents. Many, many years ago when drivers ed was a requirement, my teacher had me at 20 mph drop the right tire off the right edge of the pavement on a long straight empty road. I learned what it felt like-the bumpy loudness and felt the pull on the steering wheel. He talked me into gently steering the wheel back up onto the pavement without breaking and driving straight in my lane. Repeated this many times at increasingly higher speeds until it was a 55mph drop off and back up onto the road. This exercise accustomed me to the sensations so I would not over react and over correct. I have taught my children and will teach my grands also.
