The Tate High School Academic Team has qualified for the National Academic Quiz Tournament (NAQT), to be held in Chicago on May 31- June 1.

The team qualified by placing first overall at the Enterprise (AL) State College Cerebral Weevil tournament in December 2013.   Tate is only school in the area with a team qualified to attend the national event.

In order to help raise funds, the Tate High School Academic Team is accepting donations.  Donations can be made through a GoFundMe account by clicking here.

Just curious, I honestly don’t know but if the football team made it to the State playoffs would the school ensure they got to go and the trip was paid for? The same or actually more emphasis should be placed on ensuring academic achievements as this are funded and their travels are paid for by the school. The need for a go fund me account is a slap in the face to what is a much bigger achievement than throwing a football or baseball. I love to watch a good football game but academics should be the main priority of a high school.
