Man Jumps From Moving Vehicle On Highway 97

May 10, 2014

One person was injured after reportedly jumping from a moving vehicle south of Walnut Hill Friday night.

The incident involved a male about 19-20 years old that was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by a 31-year old female. The two were reportedly involved in a domestic dispute when the male jumped from the car while it was traveling about 50 mph. The female returned to the scene and waived down passing vehicles for help, one of which was driven a Walnut Hill volunteer fireman responding to a nearby medical call.

The male’s injuries were not considered life threatening. He was transported to a West Florida Hospital by ambulance. His name has not been released.

The incident happened on Highway 97 just south of Tungoil Road about 10:10 p.m. An investigation by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is underway.

    IMHO,
It wasn’t to the best of our extremely limited knowledge.
I imagine most men have been tempted to get away, no matter the cost, but most of them can wait for the car to stop.

Must be something in the water in the north end that brings out the cougar in these older women!!! LOL… :-)
We don’t know the story so we shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions!

One wonders with a domestic dispute if he asked her to stop the car and let him out and she refused. If so, could she be charged with wrongful imprisonment, etc.?

Mom used to say, “Don’t make me pull this car over.!!!” when we were acting up.
    We settled down.
But even as a kid I didn’t see any advantage to jumping OUT of a moving car at any speed, much less at 50 mph.
No mention of why these two were together or what the “domestic dispute” was about.
Wonder if he said, “I’ll show you how much I care for you by jumping out of the car.”
Agree with Frank, “NOT SMART, YOU CAN’T HELP STUPID!”

    It may have been justified.

    The old tale:
“If you were MY husband, I would poision your coffee. ”

“Madam, if you were my wife, I would gladly drink that coffee. ”

    David for relief of suffering

Two articles in the same edition of northescambia.com where 30+ year old women make teenage males do something stupid. There must be a shortage of eligible 30 – 40 year old males on the Northend! LOL

“I don’t wanna go home with you tonight!!” ” You’re coming home with me whether you like it or not!!” “NNooooooooooo” followed by “ow,oommph, ow, uggh, ground sky, ground sky…..ambulance!! Gotta love that logic!!
