Ernest Ward Construction Site Vandalism Investigated; Reward Offered

May 23, 2014

A construction zone vandalism at Ernest Ward Middle School in Walnut Hill is under investigation by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Schools officials say someone trespassed onto fenced-in school property and then crossed a second fence to enter the construction zone where a new multi-million dollar replacement school is under construction.

The suspects then reportedly spray painted obscene graffiti on walls and damaged foam forms used in the construction of concrete walls.

Anyone with information on the trespassing and vandalism may be eligible for a reward by calling Crime Stoppers at (850) 436-STOP. An additional award for an arrest and conviction is being offered by the Escambia County School District.

My guess it’s the same little fools who smash mail boxes. I’m with the other posters– let the fools work in the hot sun — that’ll take care of some of them wanting to deface or destroy others property. I have to wonder about the lack of sense for these people.

How Pathetic, seems like something a child would do.

I hope whoever was involved comes forward. If there were multiple others involved better be the first to turn yourself in and roll on the others that could be involved before they get the same idea.

Why do this? It makes no sense other than just being mean or spiteful.

Just don’t understand why people have to do these things. Maybe someone trying to get even for being fired. When these things happen the court system has to throw the book at them.

Hope they are quickly caught and sentenced to work at the school site hauling concrete blocks, mixing mortar, bending re-bar and getting well acquainted with a shovel then having lots of practice in applying paint to the school.
They may learn some lessons about the amount of work that goes into building a fine school and maybe gain some pride in their own Constructive abilities.
