Flood Warning Extended As Escambia River Continues To Rise

The flood warning for the Escambia River has been extended until Wednesday morning. Saturday, the stage was 17.9 feet.
Minor flooding was occurring and was forecast to continue. Flood stage is 19 feet. The river is forecast to rise to 18.9 feet by Sunday evening and fall below flood stage Wednesday morning. At 17 feet, considerable flooding of lowlands occurs. At 19 feet, low pastures are flooded and cattle need to be moved.

@catman– the reason that the log jam is still there is how jeeperman called it. The county hired a group of rookies who appear not to know what they are doing. When I saw the name of one of the members of the company (a disbarred lawyer) I knew there would be little done. On TV the log salvage companies make a lot of money– in the real world it doesn’t work like that.
The county hired some rookie company that was gonna make big bucks on the wood in the jam.
So why has it not yet been cleared?
The log jam is still there. It will always be there as long as the county and the E.P.A. are running the show!
Has the logjam been removed yet?
