Nothing in the article indicated that the child shot themself in the head. This could have been a negligent discharge as a result of an older child playing with a firearm — or even an adult who discharged the weapon… BTW, there is no such thing as an accidental discharge — only negligent discharges.

While this is a terrible tragedy…I question one thing…How was a 2 year old child able to hold a firearm and pull the trigger. The average trigger pull on a handgun is around 6-10 pounds when gripping it correctly. I can not see how a two year old’s hands would allow them to do that. Without gripping a firearm, the trigger becomes even harder to pull. If cocked and loaded, a double action revolver can be easier to pull but should never be left like that. There just seems to be more to this story that is being told. Like who actually pulled the trigger??? Something is just not right about this entire shooting.

Why was the gun accessible for the child. The parents should be arrested for negligence on a few counts! If you own a gun then take responsibility and ensure safety for all.
