Rickey Lee Powell

Rickey Lee Powell, 46 of Atmore, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Bay Minette. He was a native of Atmore. He was a commercial bus driver and a devoted Christian and member of the Healing Waters Church in Bay Minette. He loved his kids and did all he could for them. Always knew how to get a smile out of you and was extremely loyal to everyone he loved.
He was born on September 14, 1967, to the late Roy “Red” and Ruby Godwin Powell.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy Powell and Charlie Powell and one sister, Judy Powell Scott.
Survivors include his son, Richard Powell of Atmore; daughter, Sarah Powell of Atmore; three brothers, PeeWee (Ann) Powell and Gary Powell all of Atmore and Donnie (Shawn) Powell of Tennessee; one sister, Katie (Elvis) Presley of Atmore; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be Friday, March 14, 2014, at 3 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Daniels officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Johnny Rolin, Larry Bonds, John Johnson, Kenny Powell, R.D. Powell and Blaine Jeter.
Family will receive friends, Friday March 14, 2014, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until service time.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
