No Phone Service At Byrneville Elementary School, Central Water Works

March 3, 2014

Byrneville Elementary School is currently without phone service due to an AT&T cable problem. In case of emergency, the school can be reached at (850) 382-3054.

Central Water Works is also without phone service. Until service is restored, customers may call (850) 232-7072. As long as phone service is out of order, Central Water Works cannot process debit or credit card payment, even in person.

Glad to hear some people are getting some progress, but there are those of us that still are not so lucky!

Our phone service is working this morning. An AT&T tech. left a service ticket at our office at 1:45 a.m. today. That’s what I call working until you get the job done. In response to some comments made by others, we, too use Verizon for our wireless services; however, we depend on our land lines to operate a fax machine, a multi-phone line system, and a security monitoring system. Our credit card processing equipment is also tied to our land line. Being without service is inconvenient, but we need to understand utilities are susceptible to damage from severe weather, especially lightning. It’s not always possible to do a quick or easy fix. I appreciate AT&T’s efforts to keep us working while they make permanent repairs.

I have landline service. Glad to get it back. First time its been out in about 12 years. Guess they got it fixed till they get a permanent repair. Hope so.

Sounds like a paper cable under air pressure that has been damaged and is cut or wet. I must say that pre AT&T, it would be replaced or repaired in a lot less than 5 or 6 days. That would have been totally unacceptable.

if I really need a land line.—AT&T is way to expensive for the service we get and my cell phone from Verizon works really well. I guess old habits are hard to break.

I’ve talked to AT&T’s regional public relations person. Still awaiting official answers.

Stopped by where they are working a few minutes ago. Theyre tryin to get temp service in another cable till the new one gets here. Being shipped in. If it works maybe by in the morning. If you reported trouble on your line your bill WILL be adjusted for the time it is out. Least thats what i was told.

We were just informed by AT&T that they expect to have our phone service restored by Friday. March 7th.

My home has been without service since Thursday! I was promised the service would be restore Sunday afternoon. I have a husband in the hospital and it is almost impossible to get out on my cell from my home (hence the reason I still have a landline.) When I called last night and this morning to check on restoration I was given the run around as to WHEN service would be restored. I havd seen AT&T men working on Thursday and Friday nights on the turn in the bend by Food Gaint, but nothing the last 2 nights.

Anyone have any updates. Sure would be nice to hear something good!

Anyone know who to report AT&T to for their lack of service. God knows if I didn’t pay my bill I wouldn’t have service. Oh that’s right I paid my bill and I still don’t have service!
