Former Corrections Officer Charged With Child Sex Abuse

February 18, 2014

A former Santa Rosa Correctional Institution employee has been arrested on multiple child sex abuse charges.

Billy Chad Gibson was charged  with 10 counts of capitol sexual battery on a child less than 12 years of age. Investigators with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit said the abuse of a male victim allegedly occurred  repeatedly between 2012 and 2013.

Gibson was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail last Thursday with bond set at $1.5 million. He was fired from his position with the state on Friday.

I am that person. I was found not-guilty. The charges were bogus…thanks for all those that believed that someone could be arrested and be innocent…for the rest of you…I hope you never find out HOW IT FEELS…my good name was tarnished because of an outside vendetta; I am having to rebuild my life from scratch…there never was a crime perpetrated…look it up on clerk of courts record…

Please tell me what law prohibits LEO’s pics from being posted.

June 28, 2011 Department of Agriculture Officer Justin Potts pic was posted on this site. He was current Law Enforcement.

I searched this site and found it.

As a former CO myself for another institution and state I can still bet on one sure thing
They won’t have Gibson in GEN POP with everybody else. Due to his LEO status they’ll
Put him either in segregation or isolation. The deal of withholding the picture for now is to protect any family members that he might have. There are other inmates that would just be that vindictive just because he was a CO. But I agree if he’s guilty of this heinous crime then punish him.

His picture isn’t hidden to keep from shaming the DOC, or just to keep him safe. His information/picture are hidden to protect family and loved ones. Any past inmate that ha a vendetta, may decide to visit. His mugshot will be posted soon enough. I could care less about him, but he does have a family that was not charged with a crime!!

Post a picture of the thing ppl call a man, a correctional officer, the law abiding citizen, like you do the teachers, coaches etc. I get alerts on my mobile when dirt bags like this one moves in my area, how about the system wants to charge a monthly fee for information to help us PROTECT our children.
The online site for the local pedophiles should be free to all who care to view it, it is includes name, address and offense, these dirt bags have no shame to their so called game, and will continue with their nasty and evil ways because they are protected, But our childrens safety is at risk.

He is no longer a corrections officer so his picture should be published so if he did this to any other children he would possibly be recognized (if not known by his name or home address).

I just wonder if his picture was put out,if there would be more victims come forward..?,
He doesn`t deserved to be protected,,,his victim wasn`t,…

As a spouse to a state worker, if this man is guilty, then I agree with the others on here, his picture should not be protected, address should be, to protect the ones who live there that are innocent.

How is not releasing his photo supposed to hide shame from the department or protect former CO Gibson?

Where he is going it all boils down to the strong and the weak, just as it was with he and his victims. His fellow inmates will not care if he has a photo or not or weather he was a law enforcement officer. To them that is just sauce for the goose.

Really??? Make sure we dont infringe upon his rights or safety??? His protection as a law enforcement officer should of went out the window with his arrest. To bad the child, that was his victim, wasnt afforded the same rights he was. This makes me sick!

People that sexually batter a child, no matter who they are, should have their picture out there like anyone else. That is just my opinion. A child’s life is forever altered by an adult’s actions. They will never be the same again. If you cross that line, correctional officer or not, you should loose the right to privacy.

    >>”Post a picture of the dirtbag”

Florida law does not allow his address or photograph to be released because he was a corrections officer.

Post a picture of the dirtbag…. People who harm children should never see the light of day, and I hope that’s what happens him.
