Teen Indicted For First Degree Murder Of His Mother

January 10, 2014

A Santa Rosa County Grand Jury has indicted William Brandon Aydelott for first degree premeditated murder with a weapon in connection with the death of his mother, Sharon Lynn Aydelott.

Aydelott  beat and stabbed his mother to death in her Gulf Breeze home on Christmas Eve, according to prosecutors. He is scheduled to be arraigned on January 23. Investigators said William Aydelott had been arguing with his mother for some period of time before stabbing her several times with kitchen knives and striking her with a baseball bat.

William Aydelott fled the scene and was located by deputies about three hours later at a nearby residence. Deputies surrounded the home, and he surrendered without incident.

The state always goes for 1st degree murder charge. That gives them the option of working down a charge than trying to work it up from a lesser.

Bewildered You do not have to give your name when reporting a crime. Call your local sheriff’’s office and speak with someone in the narcotics division. If you know the first and last name of the man and woman whom you say are distributing these pills and the name of the doctor dispensing them i’m sure there is something they can do. I could careless what an adult puts into thier body but I despise someone who willingly gives or sells drugs to kids. You are just as guilty as they are if you know this is happening but you do nothing about it.

When the government stepped in and started telling parents how they can raise their kids, is when all of this crap started happening. Think about it. I know of a father that tried to stop his 15 year old daughter from sneaking out to meet a 25 year old man. She raked her fingernails across his face, so he slapped her. She called the law, and he was put on probation for two years. P-L-E-A-S-E. So, most kids do know that if you spank them, or give them some other punishment, they can call the law, and his parents will be in trouble. And that is why this latest generation has no respect for anyone, or life. I’m not saying all kids are like this, for I have met some remarkable young people. I’m sadden this young man has ruined his life. It’s sad that he has caused so much pain for his family. Even though I would like to slap that smirk off his face, but I think I will pray for him, cause he needs it.

Bewildered … It sounds to me like you would enable someone like this. This young man knew exactly what he was doing when he stabbed and beat his own mother with a bat ! I have heard no one say that he was under the influence of any kind of drugs. I’m sure … If he was, we would have known so. Media would have made that public I’m sure. It was HIS decision to do what he did regardless of drugs or no drugs !!

I think that once someone takes the step and commits a violent crime, they need to be locked up. Age shouldn’t matter. I have a relative that was brutally raped when she was ten years old, and left for dead. The offender was 15, and given a light sentence because of his youth and family problems, and put in counseling. He went on to rape and murder two other women before he was sentenced to life without parole. Aydelott will go on to commit more and worse crimes if he isn’t stopped. Mentally ill, on drugs, whatever his problem is, he is damaged and a threat to society. For him to slaughter his own mother shows that he is already past the point of rehabilitation. Put him away for life or give him the Death Penalty, and save the lives of his future victims.

First of all, I don’t know the boy or any of the family. Was the kid on any kind of drugs when he committed this heinous crime? If so, I will not join in asking for his head. I know a couple where the wife has a chronic illness and has trouble with walking and balance, but is not in any kind of pain. She will tell you she is not taking pain medication. Nevertheless, her husband encourages her to request strong addictive pain pills from her physician at every visit, who freely prescribes these pills for her without probing into the need. The husband makes trips to another county every couple of months to sell the pills. Question: Who is to blame if the violence and crime rate go up? The kids that steal, rob (or worse) to come up with the money to buy the stuff from him, the lying wife who requests the medication, the ruthless husband who hooks young impressionable people on dangerous pills, the physician who hands out powerful addictive drugs to get rid of patients who otherwise bug him with weekly visits that are not needed? Or people like myself, who know this practice goes on all over the country but don’t speak up because they cannot prove it and are afraid to be sued for slander? Seems there is plenty of blame to go around.

He needs to be shown as much mercy as he showed his mother. It’s way past time to get tough with these so called child killers. He knew exactly what he was doing.

News reports said this kid “smirked” and “smiled” during the interrogation and in the court room.
SR sheriff’s office said he’d made a confession to this heinous murder of his mother.
Yes, he needs to be tried as an adult and hopefully the full weight of the punishment will be given to him, death or life in prison without any chance of parole.
Sad to see all of the lives this act affected in so many ways.
Prayers for the others who grieve the loss.
Praying for justice to be done right for this kid.
