One Injured In Highway 97 Collision With A Deer

One person was injured late Monday night in a collision with a deer south of Walnut Hill.
The accident happened just before midnight on Highway 97 at Tungoil Road. A 27-year old passenger in theĀ vehicle was transported by Atmore Ambulance to Atmore Community Hospital with minor injuries.
The deer did not survive the collision.
The accident was investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol. The Walnut Hill Station of Escambia Fire Rescue also responded to the accident.

lol @ concerned driver. Yes, we must teach deer to read.
When I moved here, 20+ years ago, I was against hunting. I would go down the road honking the horn and yelling at them. Now, after hitting more dear than I can remember. And family members totalled two cars. I not only like hunters, I actively point out where those dare devil deer are hiding!
I Hate night time Driving, Because of Deer. I’ve hit one and I will not drive or ride with anyone at night. Ths time of year they will run out and There’s nothing you can do. Be careful at night.
Deer really should only cross the road at the designated Deer Crossing signs.
Look how effective all of those crosswalks that were put in a few years back at preventing pedestrians from getting hit… oh wait, they are mostly unused or ignored anyway.
