Car Burns At Credit Union Drive Thru
January 24, 2014
A car in the drive-thru line at Gulf Winds Credit Union in Atmore burned Friday afternoon. There were no reports of any injuries, and no reports of damage to the building. The driver believes the fire was associated with the rear window defroster. Reader submitted photos by Kayla Brewer and Carla Spears for NorthEscambia.com, click to enlarge.

Just a thought…………….did the car owner have aftermarket rear window tint film installed?
If yes, maybe your not suppose to put tint film on top of the defroster grid on the window?
I have no idea, just speculating.

Wow, stinks for the owner. Hope he had good insurance and GAP. I worked at GW back in the day and helped get that branch open. Glad to see there was nobody hurt and No building damage.

That could be it, but it could be other factor to it, could be shorted out wires or cold weather effect or other reason if it was the new car, could be manufacturer error.
JT it looks like maybe a dropped cigarette. That makes sense from the photo.
Really glad no one was hurt.
HOT BUY!!!! the flame paint job is so realistic…
Chevy Goes Up In Smoke…film at eleven…
That’s is an odd way for a new car to burn. Hopefully there is not more to this story.
I drove by this about 45 minutes ago, and it was really a mess.. All the parking spaces were full and people were parking everywhere to go into the building to do their banking.. Friday is payday for most, and I am sure there were long lines inside the building..
