Morgan Prefiles For Third Term As Sheriff

January 14, 2014

Incumbent David Morgan prefiled Monday to seek the office of Escambia County Sheriff in the 2016 election.

If elected, this would be Morgan’s third term as sheriff. In the 2012, he received 77 percent of the vote over 23 percent for challenger John Powell. Republican Morgan defeated Democratic challenger Larry Scapecchi by a margin of 52.6 percent to 47.4 percent in the 2008  election.

Morgan is the first candidate to prefile for any Escambia County office in 2016.

We should cut Morgan’s pay in half, since he only has half his duties left. He couldn’t manage the jell, so he dumped it on the county. Why did the county not cut his pay. Crime is up. Pensacola murders are more than Miami’s.

Let’s see, Morgan said he would reduce deputy related shootings by more training_ wrong, he would get rid of the helicopters immediately-wrong, he would cut the budget-wrong, he could reduce crime-wrong, and HE said he would NOT serve more than two terms-wrong. I’d hate to have a doctor that was so wrong or such a liar.

Sheriff Morgan is a Diva he cares more about his image and controlling everything, than Escambia county . He puts more effort into getting back at people that go against him then he does policing . He is Kim Kardasian with a badge I’m just waiting on the reality TV show.

To “The Truth” ~ If you’re getting all your so-called facts from the PNJ, the most heavy-handed and biased rag around these parts, you might want to change your handle. Jes’ sayin’.

Why on earth would anyone vote this clown four more years? Crime is up. Public distrust of the department is up. It’s time for this county to put him out to pasture.

Powell? You have to be kidding! He can’t even run a campaign without being indicted! I think Morgan has had a few mis-steps but he has gotten rid a a lot of dead wood over there. The other thing we can say is he is not crooked. And in this town that means plenty! Is crime up because of Morgan -no! It is up because we live in a high poverty low economic opportunity county! Crooks break laws just like guns don’t kill people people kill people! The last thing we want is a has been! Look at the Chief Deputies he has fired! He is not afraid of firing deadbeats and not afraid of mean Gene at the BOCC! Gene will not be re-elected he might want to get his resume ready!

There is no way in HELL I or any of my family will vote for him!!! He is an arrogant, arrogant Man, who talks down to people. I know a few deputies and they tell me that most of the department wants him gone along with his command staff. Tell me What has he done people???? Crime up every year, yet Morgan lies and says it’s down. How many shootings do we have or better yet look at how many deputies have been shot under his watch. And I don’t know about you, but when you don’t let your deputies chase people who rob, shoot, break in, etc and let them leave to commit more crimes!!!! What’s so safe about that. Time for change!!!!

This guy has everyone buffaloed. Crime has gone up every year ( go ahead and vote for him if you think that’s ok) The list of problems he has had is incredibly long. Just recently the PNJ headline stated that he was unfit to run the jail. Remember, he said he needed 18 million of your tax dollars to fix it and then at the end he said he could do it for 2.6 million ! During his reign we were declared the murder capitol of Florida and last years number of murders was nearly has high. In fact, there has never been more murders and unsolved murders in this county. Less than half of the murders last year led to an arrest. The moral at the Sheriff’s Office is rock bottom ! I dare say that this man has single handedly hurt the safety of everyone here and unless we get new leadership, the same will occur. The only thing he is good at is campaigning. He can sure sell a line. Don’t be fooled this time. For all of our sakes, vote for someone else !!

He told me several times that he believes in term limits and would NOT seek a third time if he were re-elected. It appears he deceived many of us.

    He’s got my vote.
