Arrest Made In Series Of Century Business Burglaries
January 26, 2014
A man is now behind bars charged with a series of business burglaries in Century.
Jason Allen Bodiford, 35, is facing multiple charges, included burglary, larceny, criminal mischief property damage and illegal use of a credit card. Bodiford, who told officials he is homeless, is being held in the Escambia County Jail with bond set at $44,000.
He reportedly admitted to investigators that he burglarized Century Marine, Rhonda’s Hair Salon, the Happy Star Chinese Restaurant and the Century Flower Shop. Business owners reported that Bodiford had visited their places of business prior to the burglaries asking for money.
He also allegedly burglarized a car on Hecker Road in Century and stole a credit card that was later used to purchase food at Burger King in Century.
Bodiford was originally arrested December 30 at a motel in Atmore and booked into the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton on a failure to appear charge on traffic tickets in Alabama. He was extradited to Florida on Friday to face the burglary charges.

Thieves tend to be thieves whether they have jobs or not.
Thieves also tend to lose jobs due to theft.
Those wishing to help beggars are good people.
Those insisting others risk their lives and the safety of their families for beggars are bullies.
If someone comes begging in Century needing help where should they be directed to receive help for money or food or shelter?
REGARDING:
“This man went to these Business looking for help or a Job,”
It does not report he asked for a job, just for money.
It is not unreasonable to wonder if he went there to case the place.
AND
“He may get help in Jail or learn more tricks of the trade.”
Just remember, anyone teaching crime in prison has already failed the final.
David for better people
This man went to these Business looking for help or a Job, He broke in a Vehicle stoled a Credit card and used it at Burger King, What does that tell you.
He needed work and was Hungry, That doesn’t mean he wasn’t wrong.it’s to my understand he didn take anything from the Business, Just did alot of Damage. maybe He will learn his lesson, and will be able to get a Job when he gets out of jail.
Well I guess he finally found a home.He may get help in Jail or learn more tricks of the trade.
Well said, David.
There are those who think only violent felons should be in prison, but nonviolent criminals can do much damage and won’t stop until forcibly stopped.
