Additional Arrest In Animal Cruelty Case

January 18, 2014

A wanted Century woman was arrested Friday on outstanding animal cruelty charges.

Feather Lynn McGlothren, 36, was booked in to the Escambia County Jail on two counts of confinement of animals (dogs) without sufficient food or water, and four counts of cruelty to animals.

Thursday, NorthEscambia.com reported that the same charges were filed against Robert Earl Simmons, age 54 of McDavid, who had already been arrested, and a third person who died after the case was first opened by the State Attorney’s Office.

Both Simmons and McGlothren remained jailed early Saturday morning due to outstanding probation violation warrants.

The State Attorney’s Office has not yet released any specific information about the alleged animal cruelty in the case, other than dogs were involved.

Robert was an animal lover. Yes, he could not afford to takebcare of gem properly but if he would have been able he’d have taken in every little pup in the world that needed a loving home. Good man with a big heart. No one is perfect he had his faults. Don’t judge someone unless you know them. I knew him. Well. Rip poo poo

This is a sad situation and for those that know not the circumstances, do not judge lest ye be judged. I know the WHOLE story and am not at liberty to disclose all the circumstances of this case. Just know that when you ask someone to take care of your animals, make sure they are trust worthy beforehand. If not, then you will lose your fur babies too.

I hope those innocent dogs find a good home and I hope all involved in this case get what they deserve. Lord, help these heartless people.

Nobody ratted her out. She turned herself in.

Seems to me that a “just” sentence for these two folks
would be putting them in a jail cell and then walking
away for a couple weeks so they could learn from
experience what they are accused of doing. Let the
punishment fit the crime, I say.

Glad to see that she is no longer wearing the big ol’ grin that she had in her last picture on here.

How about some jail time for these bad people, lock them up with no food or water. Let’s see how they like it.
