Wrong Phone Number To Deputy Leads To Prostitution Arrest

December 24, 2013

An Escambia County woman was arrested for prostitution after dialing a wrong number and accidentally soliciting an Escambia County Sheriff’s investigator.

The Sheriff’s Office said 27-year old Schquita Alaysha Warren dialed the investigator’s phone and said, “This is Quita”, but a crying child in the background prevented him from hearing anything further. When he hung up, he received a text from Warren asking “Want the number to have fun?”.  He then received texts that included a provocative photo and directions to an adult entertainment website where her picture could be found.

Investigators met Warren at the Motel 6 on Highway 29 where she admitted she was at the motel for paid sex. She was arrested and charged with prostitution.

    @ Paul

There have been several arrests of men and women lately, and none were in the news. This was only in the news because of the funny way she was caught (calling the police by mistake). No double standard here. Both women and men are arrested in this county for prositution. If you notice, there has been more and more enforcement of prostitution, and I believe it will continue because although prostitution itself can be argued as to whether or not it really hurts society, the fact of the matter is the prostitutes associate with other criminals that can be caught up in these operations, and the end result is that drugs are found, wanted persons are caught, money is seized, firearms are recovered, etc. It is a win-win all around because the prostitution is addressed, and other crimes are solved and arrests made while addressing the prostitution.

I saw a few men in the booking logs arrested for prostitution recently but never saw it in the news.. What’s up with the double standards?

Poor choice on making money…. but what happend to the child who could be heard crying during the first phone call? Did DCF get called in? Probably not, since the article doesn’t say. Now that the woman is jailed, surely the sheriff’s office didn’t leave this little detail that a child may be left alone to chance or did it?

So she was soliciting with a crying child in the background? That’s actually sad, because the generational curse is already being laid down for that baby.
