Man Guilty Of Robbing Four Hwy 29 Businesses To Pay Girlfriend’s Court Costs

An Escambia County man that committed a string of robberies along Highway 29 to pay his girlfriend’s court costs won’t be seeing her anytime soon.
Marquis Charles Baldwin, 23, was convicted on multiple counts of armed robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced by Judge Scott Duncan to 10 years in state prison for the holdups.
Baldwin used a pump-action BB gun during the robbery of four businesses on Highway 29 — November 30, 2012, at the the Kangaroo gas station at 7950 Pensacola Boulevard, December 6, 2012, at the Waffle House at 7999 Pensacola Boulevard, January 3 and January 9, 2013, at the Waffle House at 6913 Pensacola Boulevard.
Baldwin told investigators that he committed the robberies in order to pay off his girlfriend’s probation costs, which deputies said were paid in full after the January robbery.

I kinda feel sorry for this guy. He fell for this girls lines just to be used up and thrown away.
She moved on when he got arrested, dummy aint that much love no where she could have done community service if wanted to help herself. No EXCUSES! Dumb crime of the year goes toooooooo. Drum Roll please!!!!
Response to Fla girl ….. The looked real enough to do four robberies, what if there was someone like a customer that was caring a gun that had a license to carry….And wanted to stop him ….or the cops all they see is a gun….
My niece and my daughter went to college full time for longer than 10 years to EARN their degrees. . . And still have student l pans to pay. : (

Sentencing him to only 10 years for four separate counts of ARMED ROBBERY is an insult to the rest of us who have to work for what we get.
He knew very well what he was doing was wrong, even if the judge did not.

He paid her probation……I bet she doesn’t put a dime on his books while he’s locked up.
The cost of court fees, probation costs, this is what is left to do. Rob Peter to pay Paul. Our court cost have gone so high that for this low income town pay is very difficult. In Baldwin County, AL it cost $40 to get married without pre-marital counseling. In Escambia County, FL it cost $93.50 without pre-marital counseling. Compare court costs with other counties and see how expensive Escambia County, FL really is.
With her brush with the law, she might join him one day in the prison system.
For a more positive note to this ordeal, let us be glad the girlfriend did not ask him to kill….. say an Ex-boyfriend, Ex-husband, classmate…..
