November 29, 2013

Two men are are dead in a double homicide after allegedly shooting each other.

The Pensacola Police Department responded to a shots fired call about 11:30 Wednesday night in the 1900 block of Cypress Street in Pensacola. When officers arrived at Cypress Street and Pace Boulevard, they found 23-year old Kristopher Washington dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the chest. Minutes later, a blue Saturn Vue arrived at Sacred Heart Hospital with a second shooting victim, identified as 18-year old Airvae Hunter.  Hunter, who was driven to the hospital by his brother, later died.

It is believed Hunter and Washington exchanged gunfire for an unknown reason inside the Saturn Vue that was driven to the hospital.

@bewildered—Read the whole story again, slowly and carefully. It clearly states that the victims brother drove him to Sacred Heart Hospital, where he later died. A different news source states that the brother pulled the other victim out of the car, so he could drive his brother to the hospital. I assume that the other victim had occupied the drivers seat, but it did not state that as fact.

Shot one another? At least these two didn’t shoot innocent by standers. With the other double murder a few weeks ago, how many 2013 murders have there been so far in Escmabia County – 17, 18, 19, 20 or more? It looks like Escambia is on track for the highest murder rate in the state again. New chamber of commerce advertising jingle: “Come visit Thugville… errr Pensacola! But before you arrive, take out another life insurance policy!”

Just wondering. Did the gravely injured second victim drive himself to Sacred Heart hospital? If not, the driver of the vehicle should know details of the incident. Like most of the time, probably a drug deal gone bad.
