Taco Bell Coming To Atmore

November 13, 2013

A Taco Bell restaurant will be constructed in Atmore in the coming months.

The restaurant will be located in the Rivercane development at Highway 21 and I-65. Tacala, LLC is purchasing the land from the City of Atmore for $337,000. The restaurant, expected to open early next year, will employ about 30 people.

Based in Vestavia Hills, AL, Tacala operates 164 Taco Bell locations in six Southeastern States, making the company one of the largest franchise operations of Taco Bell restaurants in the nation.

    Hal,

No they mean “the welcome belongs to you, your welcome.”
    Not buying it?
Oh well, I tried to explain it away

    There – not here
    They’re – they are
    Their – they own
    Your – owned by you
    You’re – you are
Yer — all purpose word which can mean your or you’re as needed

And, of course, grammar and spelling are different animals.

    To “Grammar”:

It should be “you’re welcome” instead of “your welcome.” You might want to check yourself before you start handing out grammar advice.

    :)

I am so tired of all of you talking about how Walmart will close the existing small businesses. these existing small businesses are the reason we need a Walmart. Has anyone tried to go and find something as simple as a good electric can opener lately? What abut a selection of picture frames. If your looking for a lampshade you can forget it.
I am so tired of having to go to Bay Minette for such little things and I am tired of these small arrogant business owners charging so much for stuff.
    Just because they can.
I don’t know who yall are getting your information from but this wall mart will be a small test store, to see if this town will support it. I have no doubt that it will. If it doesn’t I better not hear anyone complain about atmore not having anywhere to shop again. If it is upgraded to a super Walmart then it will be built somewhere else..
Maybe these small business will lower their prices and get more creative with what they sale in order to stay in business. they act like we owe them the business.

    @ me

“THERE, is everything spelled correctly, and is my grammer correct?????”

Actually, NO your spelling is not correct. “Grammer” is spelled incorrectly. “Grammer” is actually spelled GRAMMAR.

    Your welcome!

“all it takes is MONEY and you can get the Franchise License.”

WOW….I wish it was that easy.

That is not very accurate….for example, Cracker Barrel is company owned and operated, NO franchise can be bought.

As for Chick-fil-a, the below text was taken from their webpage.

The Chick-fil-A Operator application process is rigorous. The opportunity is highly competitive:
We receive approximately 20,000 franchise inquiries per year. Over the past five years, we have selected an average of 75 to 80 new franchised Operators per year.
Chick-fil-A’s franchisee turnover rate historically has been less than 5% per year.
The location and development of Chick-fil-A Restaurants is determined solely by Chick-fil-A, Inc., based on its goals for system-wide expansion in specifically targeted markets.
We do not offer franchise opportunities to all qualified candidates. Rather, we select the best candidates for a limited number of franchise opportunities.

WOW…..sure seems like more to purchasing a franchise than just having the money and it’s yours. These companies are not stupid. Your wanting to buy their name….they are not going to let just anybody with the money come in and place one of their stores into a market that is destined for failure.

You want jobs? You want tax base? Get a
factory! Get manufacturing! All fast food and retail attracts is more fast food and retail. The regime in Atmore want those low paying jobs because it
    doesn’t threaten their power base.

In the biz: FYI, I can guarantee you that the citizens of Atmore, not only poor and uneducated (nt all of them), can give customers the BEST customer service around. We may be poor and uneducated, but we do know how to treat people. I have been to some large cities, including Mobile and Pensacola and have had VERY unsatisfactory service with attitudes to go along with it. THERE, is everything spelled correctly, and is my grammer correct????? I do have a little education….

  8. memyselfi on November 14th, 2013 6:54 am

    @ in the biz
For your information there might be a Cracker Barrel coming in the near future. ALL that is connected to Atmore are not worthless. By the way there are NO company’s here lacking employees. It is sad that someone looks at life like that. People should be happy about other cities doing well cause that means less people getting government handouts. I’m very proud of Atmore and Poarch for all there success.Good things happen for good people and this is example. And also where there is work they will come. That has been a proven point because Atmore has grown in the last 5 years or so. This just sound like a selfish thing to say and there may be some jealous there.

Is Taco Bell coming to Atmore or is Atmore coming to Taco Bell?

Did Atmore extend the city limits out to I-65 in an attempt to collect bed taxes there at the hwy 21/I-65 junction, AKA River Cane?

    A bridge (overpass) too far.

  10. well on November 14th, 2013 5:03 am

    @in the biz,
As i was once told, i’m not sure you know what you are talking about…
The businesses you mention are located in Pensacola, Mobile and many others…….
    Crime ridden CITIES!!!! No Offense.
All it takes is MONEY and you can get the Franchise License.

I promise this is not a shot at the residents of Atmore or any surrounding area, but you will never get a Texas Roadhouse, Logans, Cracker Barrel, Chick-fil-a, etc. You do not have enough qualified residents to operate such. I know because I have family members that work within the business. These corporations and franchises not only look at traffic flow, but they also look deep into the community. Hint, hint….crime ridden neighborhoods, school system, average education level of citizens, hospital capabilities. You must have a large enough population of educated, trustworthy, dedicated potential employees. Atmore along with Monroeville, Brewton and Evergreen all lack these potential employees. Once these infrastructures are built then you can expect higher end retail development. Until then get used to the dollar stores, burger joints and title loan businesses.

“where will the new Walmart be?”

Next to Oak Hill Cemetery, across from trashy trailer park and liquor store. Probably will be people hit by cars as they cross the street at night to buy cheap beer and smokes.

  13. sunshine on November 13th, 2013 7:36 pm

Everyone in favor of WalMart coming to town has never been in business for them self/ /WalMart destroys the small business owned by local people & sucks the life out of small towns. There will be more vacant buildings. But I think a Cracker Barrel would be a great idea / they offer a good menu & it’s not fast food.

  14. Keith on November 13th, 2013 6:57 pm

  15. Crystal on November 13th, 2013 6:31 pm

  16. citizen on November 13th, 2013 5:42 pm

Wow, walmart and taco bell things are really moving forward in atmore!

  17. FL GIRL on November 13th, 2013 5:18 pm

where will the new Walmart be?

  18. mom on November 13th, 2013 11:48 am

i just wish the Walmart wasn’t going to be where it is…would rather see it out on the interstate…

  19. Clyde Jones on November 13th, 2013 9:59 am

Yes the Walmart is a Super Center with a Grocery Store and all. Not only was Keith’s son told by Walmart officials, but the building plans are already out for bids, so it won’t be a small one as City Resident thinks. And maybe the city doesn’t have an announcement to make, but perhaps the Creek Indians do?

  20. A Better Solution on November 13th, 2013 9:54 am

Should have made the KFC in town a KFC/Taco Bell instead.

  21. Keith on November 13th, 2013 8:13 am

the walmart coming to atmore will be a super center with grocerys my son works for walmart and was told so by people high up and will be open by this time next year……

  22. just saying on November 13th, 2013 7:50 am

Well don’t think a the small Walmart will work because we have about 2 dollar generals we have 2 family dollar stores and dollar tree.and a freds just saying. And atmore sure needs a sonic and a cracker barrel lol

  23. City Resident on November 13th, 2013 7:33 am

    >>Yep, and Walmart is coming to Atmore too.

Maybe, and no. It won’t be a Walmart…it will be a Walmart Neighborhood market and an experimentially smaller one of those. Like a little Winn Dixie or something. And maybe because it has not be officially announced or the plans approved by the city.

  24. atmore dude on November 13th, 2013 7:32 am

BUT, this is also sad…WHY does Atmore only attract the fast food joints? Why can we not get a Logans, a Texas Road House, a TGIFridays, something worth eating at besides fast food junk???

  25. Just Me on November 13th, 2013 7:28 am

    WAHOO!!!

  26. Clyde Jones on November 13th, 2013 5:25 am
