Mildred Ione Bethea Boutwell

Mrs. Mildred Ione Bethea Boutwell, age 86 of Flomaton, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 31, 2013.

Mrs. Boutwell was born in Century but had been a member of the Flomaton community for her lifetime. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church where she was on the Bereavement Committee. She was also active in the First United Methodist Church of Flomaton where she served on many committees, as M.Y.F. Leader, taught Sunday school and was a devoted church and choir member. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Estelle Sturdivant Nelson; brother, George Albert Nelson; her first husband, Thomas Rabun Bethea, Sr. and grandson, Brandon Christopher Agerton.

She is survived by her husband, Mr. Herbert C. Boutwell, Jr. of Flomaton; sons, Travis Kent (Peyton) Bethea of Brewton and Thomas Rabun Bethea, Jr. of Flomaton; daughters, Lois Katherine (Kenneth) White of Atmore, Darla Nette ‘Totsie’ (Clifton) Mims of Atmore, Jodi (Jimmy) Broach of Gulf Breeze and Geneva Dawn (Ken) Cooper of Atmore; brother, Arthur Ray Nelson of Foley; sister, Geneva Feltman of Lexington, SC; step-sons, Herbert Chauncey (Brenda) Boutwell, III of Pensacola, Joseph Phillip (Rhonda) Boutwell of Pensacola, John Tilton Boutwell of Pensacola, Timothy Wayne (Connie) Boutwell of White Hall, AR, and  Benjamin Daniel (Cheryl) Boutwell of Century; step-daughter, Mary Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ (Dean) Wilkerson of Bonaire, GA and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Flomaton from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Flomaton with Rev. Dustin Stockstill and Dr. Jerry Keese officiating.

Interment will be in Flomaton Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Coburn, Joshua Mims, Caleb Bethea, Mack Broach, Alvin Feltman, Chase Boutwell, Joe Brantley and Emanuel Bethea.
